Radical Nationalists have begun arms dealing on the island of Malden. We're here to put a stop to it.
~ Mission Briefing

Description

Version 4

In Version 4, the mission retained its geographic location on Altis. Because it was played on a Thursday, it was rebalanced for a slightly lower player count, and some Quality Of Life improvements were made.

  • Pyrgos Harbor had its shipping containers removed for better frame rates.
  • Enemy Striders were removed due to interfering with the VLS targeting capability.
  • Moved the Mk41 VLS to sea level to potentially solve functionality issues.
  • Finally had one of the objectives removed, making the final objective count go from 4 to 3.

Version 3

In this iteration of Quantum Spear, the players requested the mission be taken elsewhere, geographically speaking. Goober had chosen Altis, and created a Pyrgos Harbor in the middle of Altis Gulf. It had many shipping containers and he neglected to make most of shipping containers simple objects. Some players had frame rate issues when looking at the Harbor. The Encore DLC was released during while this iteration was still being built. The Mk41 VLS was placed on top of a building and the building placed 5km in the sky, creating a pseudo-Orbital Strike Capability. It didnt work.

Version 2

The Bird Bug was rectified in this iteration of Quantum Spear.

Version 1

This was the beginning of Quantum Spear mission series. The enemies were Radical Nationalists that appeared on Malden and started arms dealing to the local militias. TMTM was sent there with the mission of pushing them off the island utilizing a fast and loud operation using motorized assets and fixed wing air support. The four towns that required clearing and subsequent destruction of the weapons caches were Goisse, Arudy, La Passange, and La Riviere. Once these had been cleared and destroyed, an unlucky player found the building with the many 'devices' inside them, they had to interact with the central device to "disarm" them. This of course started a timer that led to the detonation of a nuclear device.
