Description
2050: Even as the hegemon nation within the powerful CSAT alliance, China's power wanes under the efforts of its Western rivals as well as domestic dissidents both within the coalition and within the nation itself. Alongside more longstanding opponents of the Politburo, a new, militaristic movement has begun to spring up, especially among the Party elites. Monarchists looking up to the imperial dynasties of old have begun to gather other opposition elements to rally against the CCP.
Despite being the site of CSAT's underhanded Apex Protocol, their official handling of the dumbfounding Malaria outbreak in the late 2030's has managed to bring enough legitimacy to the pro-CSAT Nouveaux Horizions ruling party that today, the Horizon Islands are the newest CSAT client state. However, this has only made the nation a hotbed of anti-CSAT and anti-CCP movements, as well as drawing in large backers.
Today, one of those backers - reportedly a high official in the CCP - is assembling a force of said dissidents. Foreign mercenaries and agents, Hong Kong separatists, conservative Triad societies and anti-CSAT fighters from all over Asia are being assembled in Tanoa for a mission that may give rise to an even greater cause...
